Construction collections

The lien window closed. The debt didn't.

Lien deadlines are short, and a lot of contractors find out too late. Other times the lien gets filed and the owner or GC still sits on the money. Either way, the invoice is still owed.

We recover unpaid construction invoices for GCs, subs and suppliers with formal demands, steady follow-up and someone who knows how construction payment works.

When to use collections

When a lien isn't the answer

Your lien deadline passed

Lien rights are gone, but the debt isn't. We go after the company that owes you.

The lien didn't pay

We work the account directly while the lien stays on record.

There's nothing to lien

Public projects, tenant work, or a debtor whose property you can't reach.

You'd rather not cloud the title

Keep the relationship with the owner and pursue the GC or sub instead.

How it works

How we collect

1

Send the account

Invoices, contract or work order, payment messages and the debtor's contact info.

2

We review it

Amount, who's responsible, and whether lien rights are still open.

3

Demand letter

A formal written demand with the amount, the basis and a deadline to pay.

4

We follow up

Calls, emails and second notices to everyone in the payment chain.

5

We negotiate

Lump sum or a written payment plan, approved by you.

6

You get paid

Funds are sent to you, less our fee.

Timeline

What to expect

Many accounts resolve after the demand letter. Others take longer, especially when a GC is waiting on the owner. We keep you updated at each stage.

Demand letters that get read

Your fifth text got ignored. Our letter won't be.

A demand from a third party lands differently. Ours states what's owed, for what job, and what happens if it isn't paid.

We send it to every party that can solve the problem, not just the person who stopped returning your calls.

Missed your lien deadline?

You lose the claim against the property, not the contract or the invoice. You can still pursue the company that hired you, and sometimes payment bonds, retainage or parties up the chain.

FAQ

Collections questions

Can you collect if my lien deadline already passed?

Yes. Missing the deadline ends your lien rights, not the debt. We pursue the company that owes you directly.

I filed a lien and still haven't been paid. Can you help?

Yes. We can open a collections file on the same debt while the lien stays on record, and push for payment through demands and follow-up.

How much do you charge for collections?

Contingency fee of 10% to 33% of what we recover. No collection, no charge. You'll see the fee in writing before we start.

How long does construction collections take?

Some accounts pay within a couple of weeks of the demand letter. Others take a few months, especially when a GC is waiting on the owner. We update you at each stage.

What do I need to send you?

Your invoices, contract or work order, any messages about payment, the job address, and the debtor's name and contact info.

What happens if the debtor still won't pay?

We'll talk through next steps with you, which may include bringing in an attorney to file suit. We're not a law firm and don't give legal advice.
